Despite a 3–1 start, the Bears suffered a four-game losing streak, and after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles to fall to 3–5, they were unable to improve upon their 12–4 record from 2018. They rebounded by going 4–1 in their next five games, but a Week 15 loss to the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings beating the Los Angeles Chargers later that day eliminated them from playoff contention.
